Yellowstone National Park,

Yellowstone Lake,

Artists point,

West Yellowstone

*Pick-up time is for reference only; actual time will be confirmed by your guide one day in advance.

Depart at 7:00 in the morning. We will enter the world-famous Yellowstone National Park about 90 minutes from your hotel.Covered in primeval forests, Yellowstone National Park is America’s first national park, a pristine world of peace and beauty. Beneath its surface lies one of the largest active volcanoes on Earth, waiting for you to discover its incredible underground power.Drive east along the Madison River for approximately 30 minutes, with various wildlife passing by along the way, until we reach Yellowstone’s most famous geothermal area. We will first visit the Upper, Midway, and Lower Geyser Basins to enjoy a variety of geothermal features including hot springs, fumaroles, geysers, and mud pots.

Leaving the geothermal area, we will head to the beautiful alpine Yellowstone Lake. Here you can stroll along the lakeside trails to enjoy the lake views and shoreline hot springs, or take a boat ride for a unique experience. Finally, we will visit the spectacular Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, featuring the thundering Yellowstone Falls and vividly coloured eroded volcanic rock formations.

Return to West Yellowstone Town to conclude the day’s tour.

Lower Geyser Basin (Fountain Paint Pots Trail): 40 mins

Shortly after Madison Junction, we enter a steaming geothermal area dominated by colorful mud pots in red, yellow, and brown, colored by oxidized iron. Bubbles from volcanic gases vary with the seasons.

Midway Geyser Basin (Grand Prismatic Spring): 60 mins

A 10-minute drive brings us to Grand Prismatic Spring, the largest hot spring in the U.S. and third-largest in the world. It measures 75–91m wide, 49m deep, releasing about 2,000 liters of 71°C water per minute. Its vibrant concentric rings of blue, green, yellow, orange, and red make it Yellowstone’s most colorful sight.

Upper Geyser Basin (Old Faithful Visitor Center): 60 mins

A 15-minute drive leads to Old Faithful, Yellowstone’s first-named and most famous geyser, erupting roughly every 90 minutes up to 40 meters high. The visitor center offers exhibits, souvenirs, and park films.

Yellowstone Lake (West Thumb Geyser Basin): 40 mins

A 30-minute drive takes us to the glassy Yellowstone Lake. Formed 150,000 years ago by volcanic collapse, West Thumb features steaming hot springs merging with the lake, creating a misty, unique landscape with vividly colored vents.

Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone & Upper/Lower Falls (Artist Point): 30 mins

After a one-hour drive, we reach the canyon area. Carved over millions of years, the 20-mile-long, 1,000-foot-deep canyon is famous for its brilliantly colored volcanic rocks in white, yellow, green, blue, and red. Artist Point, the classic overlook immortalized by painter Thomas Moran in 1872, offers the best views of the canyon and waterfalls.

Day 2:  West Yellowstone - Jackson Hole - Grand Teton National Park - Bozeman

Trip:

,

Grand Teton National Park,

Grand Teton peak,

Jackson Lake ,

Bozeman

Today we will hike on some less-traveled boardwalks and revisit some of yesterday’s sights from a backpacker’s perspective. We have specially selected three iconic trails: Grand Prismatic, Morning Glory Pool, and West Thumb. In the afternoon, we will travel south from Yellowstone into Grand Teton National Park. The highest peak in the park is Grand Teton at 4,198 meters (13,773 ft), dotted with remaining glaciers.Among the glacial lakes, Jenny Lake is the most famous.Jackson Lake, formed by a dam on the Snake River, is the largest body of water in the area. Here you will find snow-capped peaks piercing the clouds, covered in millennia-old glaciers, with ranges stretching endlessly like a fairyland on earth.

After leaving Grand Teton, we will pass through the National Elk Refuge and arrive at Jackson Hole, a classic Western cowboy town. You can soak up the local atmosphere and visit the iconic antler arches in the town center. In the evening, we return to West Yellowstone, where we may enjoy a stunning sunset over Yellowstone Lake at West Thumb. Finally, we drive back to Bozeman to conclude this unforgettable journey.

Jackson Hole (Antler Arches Park) – 20 minutes

The town exudes Western cowboy charm in every detail, from exterior decor to interior styling. The world-famous Antler Arches Park is located here, featuring the largest and most impressive elk antler arches in the United States, with one identical arch on each side of the square. The arches are made from naturally shed elk antlers after the herd winters in the National Elk Refuge. It is a must-visit photo spot for every traveler.

Oxbow Bend – 20 minutes

The Snake River flows downstream from Jackson Lake Dam, near Highway 89, and curves sharply toward Moran, resembling a wild ox’s horn — hence the name Oxbow Bend.A designated pull-off offers a westward view of the imposing Mount Moran rising dramatically above the river bend. Its massive granite formation stands tall and majestic. On calm mornings and evenings, the still water creates perfect reflections of snow-capped mountains, making this a signature location for photographers worldwide.

Tall trees and glistening water create a leisurely atmosphere reminiscent of classic English landscape paintings. It is one of Grand Teton’s best spots for wildlife viewing and photography, and the ideal viewpoint for Mount Moran.Grand Teton’s autumn scenery is legendary, drawing countless photographers each year.

Teton Point Turnout – 20 minutes

A short drive south from Snake River Overlook along Highway 191 leads to Teton Point Turnout. The parking area offers sweeping, unobstructed views of the continuous, towering Teton Range.Visitors can fully appreciate the grandeur of Grand Teton and its ancient, permanent glaciers for a truly spectacular experience.

Jackson Lake – 20 minutes

Jackson Lake is a glacial lake in Grand Teton National Park, northwestern Wyoming, approximately 24 km long, 11 km wide, and 134 meters deep, with an average annual water temperature of 16°C.Following the completion of Jackson Lake Dam, the lake expanded significantly, with surface water used for irrigation by farmers in Idaho. The Snake River feeds the lake from the north and exits via the dam on the eastern shore.

The lake supports rich aquatic life, including native and introduced trout species, Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat trout, and mountain whitefish. There are over 15 islands, notably Elk Island and Donoho Point. The John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway runs from southern Yellowstone to the lake’s north end and continues along its eastern shore.Marinas and lodges line the shore (most offering boat tours except Jackson Lake Lodge). The western shore remains largely primitive, ideal for hiking, camping, and enjoying calm, wind-rippled lake reflections.

Yellowstone Lake (West Thumb Boardwalk) – 40 minutes

In the evening, we return to the Yellowstone Lake area.As the largest high-elevation lake in North America, Yellowstone Lake features a unique blend of hot springs and open water, plus exceptional sunset viewing spots.West Thumb is the most distinctive boardwalk on Yellowstone Lake. Here you will see steaming thermal features, crystal-clear waters, and a brilliant backdrop of blue sky and white clouds.

Upper Geyser Basin – 90 minutes(Morning Glory Pool, Sapphire Pool Trail – Sapphire Pool temporarily closed)

After lunch, we will explore the trails behind Old Faithful.Upper Geyser Basin contains the highest concentration of geysers in Yellowstone.Of Yellowstone’s 200–250 geysers, about 180 are found in this area.

Along the trail, we will visit famous features including Castle Geyser, Grand Geyser, Daisy Geyser, Riverside Geyser, and Morning Glory Pool. You will see all four types of geothermal features: fumaroles, hot springs, geysers, and mud pots. After reaching Morning Glory Pool, time and energy permitting, we can continue to Sapphire Pool in the Biscuit Basin area.Sapphire and Morning Glory are the most spectacular thermal features on this trail.

Midway Geyser Basin – 60 minutes

(Grand Prismatic Spring Boardwalk)Approximately 40 minutes after entering the park, we reach the Grand Prismatic boardwalk. The loop is about 3 km long, with a relatively flat gravel section in the first half and gentle slopes in the second half.Due to weather conditions, this trail is only open from May through August.Extra caution is required if visiting outside these months.
