Day 2:  Salt Lake City Yellowstone National Park

Trip:

Grand Teton National Park,

Yellowstone National Park,

Old Faithful,

The Grand Prismatic Spring,

Bear world

Departing from Salt Lake City this morning, we'll drive to the famous Yellowstone National Park. Today, we'll visit Yellowstone's core attractions, including the colorful Grand Prismatic Spring, the regularly erupting Old Faithful Geyser, the Artist Paint Pots with their rich mineral colors, and the Morning Glory Pool, renowned for its vibrant colors and resembling a natural palette. Experience Yellowstone's diverse and breathtaking geothermal wonders.
Along the way, we will pass by the popular Yellowstone Bear World. You can choose to join the park's private shuttle tour, which will allow you to easily and safely traverse the wildlife area and have the opportunity to see a variety of wild animals up close, including black bears, grizzly bears, moose, and bison, adding a unique and unforgettable nature adventure experience to your journey.

 Great Salt Lake (30-minute visit)
The Great Salt Lake, the world's second-largest saltwater lake and North America's largest inland salt lake, is located in western Utah, USA. It is bordered by the Rocky Mountains to the east and desert to the west, and consists of 10 islands. It is also a wildlife sanctuary, attracting millions of migratory birds annually. The lake's salinity is as high as 25%, second only to the Dead Sea, and only a few types of algae that can tolerate extremely high salinity can survive in it.

 Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone National Park, the world's first national park, is located in the Los Angeles Mountains, known as the "backbone of America," on a lava plateau between the northern and central Los Angeles Mountains in the western United States. Established on March 1, 1872, it is renowned for its rich wildlife and geothermal resources. Named after the source of the Yellowstone River, the park boasts hundreds of recorded animal species. Native Americans have inhabited the Yellowstone area for at least 11,000 years. Geothermal wonders are its hallmark, and the park's natural landscape is divided into five main areas: the Mammoth Area, the Roosevelt Area, the Canyon Area, the Geyser Area, and the Lake Area, each with its own unique characteristics.

Yellowstone Bear World (30-minute visit) Optional extra
A trip to Yellowstone National Park or Grand Teton National Park isn't complete without a drive-through adventure to Yellowstone Bear World. Yellowstone Bear World is a bear-themed wildlife sanctuary and the only drive-through wildlife reserve in the Greater Yellowstone area. In addition to American black bears and grizzly bears, it features a variety of large animals unique to North America, such as bison, gray wolves, elk, and caribou. In designated areas, visitors can get out of their cars and observe wildlife up close, including roaming livestock, various birds, and deer.
Note: If no guests participate, the tour guide will lead the group directly to the next attraction.

The Grand Prismatic Hot Spring (40-minute visit)
Also known as the Grand Prismatic Spring or the Eye of the Earth, it is located at coordinates 44.524569, -110.837975 in Yellowstone National Park , USA . With a diameter of approximately 100 meters, it is the largest hot spring in the United States and the third largest in the world. It is about 75 to 91 meters wide and 49 meters deep, with a water temperature reaching 85°C, and approximately 2000 liters of 71-degree Celsius water gushing out every minute. It was first discovered by explorers in 1839. The amazing thing about the Grand Prismatic Spring is that the color of the lake changes with the seasons. In spring, the lake changes from emerald green to a golden orange-red. In the height of summer, the chlorophyll decreases, so the lake displays a vibrant orange, red, or yellow hue. But in the depths of winter, due to lack of sunlight, the water turns a deep, dark green.

Artist Paint Pots (Yellowstone Palette) (30-minute visit)
Also known as the "Artist's Paint Bucket," it gets its name from its colorful and varied geothermal landscapes and is one of the most distinctive geothermal areas in Yellowstone National Park. It features four typical geothermal phenomena: hot springs, mud pots, fumaroles, and small geysers. Walking along the trails, visitors can get up close to the boiling mud pools, the rising steam from the fumaroles, and the vibrant colors formed by mineral deposits. The entire area resembles nature's palette and is a representative attraction for experiencing Yellowstone's geothermal wonders.

 Old Faithful Geyser (90-minute visit)
Old Faithful Geyser is a geyser located in Yellowstone National Park, USA , named for its consistent and regular eruptions. It was named during the Washburn-Lanford-Dorn Expedition in 1870, becoming the first named geyser in Yellowstone National Park. Currently, it erupts approximately every 90 minutes, each eruption lasting 4-5 minutes, with water columns reaching over 40 meters high, creating a spectacular sight, and it never stops. The geyser and the adjacent Old Faithful Inn are listed as part of the Old Faithful Historic District.

Morning Glory Pool (75-minute visit)
Morning Glory Pool, located at the end of the Upper Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park, is named for the vibrant morning glory-like colors that appear around its edges. It is one of Yellowstone's most iconic hot springs. The water's color gradually transitions from deep blue to yellow and orange, creating distinct layers under sunlight, making it a highly scenic attraction. Powered by a continuously heating underground spring, Morning Glory Pool boasts extremely high water temperatures. Its unique color variations, combined with the surrounding steaming landscape, make it a key scenic spot for visitors exploring the Upper Geyser Basin on foot.

Day 3:  Yellowstone National Park

Trip:

Norris Geyser,

Yellowstone National Park,

Mammoth Hot Springs,

Artists point,

Upper and Lower Falls,

Yellowstone Lake

This morning, we will depart from the East Gate, and your guide will take you to Yellowstone Lake. Here you can enjoy the stunning alpine scenery of Yellowstone Lake, or join the optional self-funded motorboat tour on the lake.
Afterwards, we will travel north along the Grand Loop Road and soon arrive at Hayden Valley — a large subalpine valley between Yellowstone Falls and Yellowstone Lake, famous as an excellent spot for viewing wildlife.
Next, your guide will take you to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, one of the most magnificent and spectacular sights in Yellowstone National Park. Here, the rushing river cascades down in two majestic waterfalls, roaring into the canyon below. The Upper Falls stands approximately 33 meters high. You will also visit the famous Artist Point, perched on the canyon walls. Standing here, you cannot help but marvel at the wonders of nature.
Later, we will head to Yellowstone Hot Springs to relax and unwind in the soothing thermal waters, washing away the tiredness of the journey.
We will then continue to another major attraction — Mammoth Hot Springs. Here you can walk along the boardwalks to admire the travertine terraces, or visit the Visitor Center to learn more about Yellowstone’s history and culture.
Finally, we will proceed to the Roosevelt Arch at the North Entrance of Yellowstone, one of the park’s most iconic landmarks.
The sightseeing sequence and stops within Yellowstone National Park are subject to the guide’s arrangement on the day of the tour, based on actual conditions.
【Yellowstone Lake】 (30 minutes)
Known as an “incomparable alpine lake”, Yellowstone Lake is the largest lake in Yellowstone National Park and one of the largest high altitude lakes in the world. Its average annual water temperature is 5°C. The lake holds about 340,000 tons of water, with an annual outflow of 30,000 tons. The entire lake is naturally refreshed approximately every 8–10 years.
Observations since 1952 show that the lake’s water level varies by no more than 6 feet annually. From late December/early January to late May/early June, Yellowstone Lake is frozen for about half the year, with ice thickness ranging from several inches to two feet.
Due to its size, depth, and local wind patterns, Yellowstone Lake can sometimes resemble a rough inland sea.In late summer, the lake forms thermal layers. Surface temperatures rarely exceed 19°C, while lower layers are much colder. Swimming is not recommended, as humans can only survive 20–30 minutes in such temperatures.
【Hayden Valley】 (30 minutes)
Hayden Valley lies along the road between Mud Volcano and Canyon Junction. It is the second-best wildlife-viewing area in Yellowstone, after Lamar Valley.
The valley consists of large grasslands with rivers flowing through, ideal for wildlife to forage at dawn and dusk. With binoculars, visitors often spot wolves, bears, and other animals here, making it one of the best places to view wildlife in the park.
【Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone】 (40 minutes)
Ranked No.1 among Yellowstone’s 90 scenic spots, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is a must-visit destination.Located between Fishing Bridge and Tower Fall, the canyon was carved by the Yellowstone River flowing from Yellowstone Lake for about 38 km.
The 97 km long Yellowstone River is the only undammed river in the United States. Here, the river suddenly accelerates, crashing into two spectacular waterfalls that thunder into the deep canyon.
【Artist Point】 (30 minutes)
Artist Point is located in the eastern part of Yellowstone. From here, you can enjoy the dramatic view of Upper and Lower Falls, along with the stunning combination of clear skies, turquoise water, white rapids, and golden-brown canyon walls.
It is also the best spot to view the Lower Falls and the Grand Canyon. The nearly 100 meter drop creates a breathtaking “waterfall plunging three thousand feet” scene. The yellow and red rock walls glow brilliantly in the sunlight, like colorful ribbons surrounding the canyon.
【Upper Yellowstone Falls】 (30 minutes)
Upper Yellowstone Falls was formed by the Yellowstone River eroding softer rock layers.Standing at 109 feet high, it can be viewed from the Upper Falls trail and Uncle Tom’s Trail, offering the closest view of the falls’ magnificent power.
【Yellowstone Hot Springs】 (60 minutes)
Formed over many years within Yellowstone’s ecosystem, these natural hot springs are rich in minerals beneficial to the human body. The peaceful environment and soothing thermal waters help you relax and refresh, enjoying a comfortable break during your tour.
Note: Towels may be brought by guests or rented for about $3–5. Swimsuits must be brought by guests.
【Mammoth Hot Springs】 (30 minutes)
Mammoth Hot Springs is the largest known carbonate-depositing hot spring in the world. The landscape is famous for its travertine terraces, also known as the Thermal Terrace Area, divided into Upper Terraces and Lower Terraces.
The hot water originates from the Norris Geyser Basin and can reach 77°C.Various algae living in the springs create vibrant colors: brown, orange, red, and green. The flowing hot springs form colorful terraces, creating a magnificent and spectacular sight.
【Roosevelt Arch】 (20 minutes)
The cornerstone of the Roosevelt Arch was laid in 1903 by the 26th U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt.Located at the North Entrance, it is one of the most recognizable symbols of Yellowstone National Park. The North Entrance is the only formal entrance gate of the park.
After completion, President Roosevelt had the 10 word phrase from the U.S. Congress Act inscribed on the arch:“For the Benefit and Enjoyment of the People”

Day 4:  Yellowstone National Park - Grand Teton National Park - Salt Lake City

Trip:

Grand Teton National Park,

Yellowstone National Park,

West Thumb Geyser Basin,

Temple Square,

Salt Lake City

Today, we will first take you to visit the West Thumb Geyser Basin, located on the shore of Yellowstone Lake, and then proceed to Grand Teton National Park. Afterwards, we will make a short stop at Elk Antler Arches Park before heading to the Utah State Capitol and Temple Square. After the visit, we will return to our hotel in Salt Lake City to rest.

West Thumb Geyser Basin (60-minute visit)
West Thumb Geyser Basin, located on the shore of Yellowstone Lake, was formed 150,000 years ago by a tectonic subsidence. The combination of hot geysers and lake water creates a unique, misty landscape: the steam rising from the hot springs rises amidst the shimmering green waters of Yellowstone Lake, reflecting against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds, creating a scene unlike any other hot spring area in Yellowstone. This area is essentially a bay of Yellowstone Lake, where many geysers converge. The vents display a variety of colors, some transparent green, others a dark, cement-like black. The numerous vents create a beautiful, fantastical scene.

Elk Antler Arches Park (30-minute visit)
The park isn't large, but it features giant arches made of deer antlers in the four cardinal directions. The antlers are all hard and durable, making it a shame they aren't used to make deer antler tonics. These antlers aren't from hunting; they're from the large numbers of elk that migrate from the mountains to Jackson's National Elk Sanctuary every winter. In the spring, the antlers naturally shed and are replaced, leaving behind countless treasures after the elk leave.

Grand Teton National Park (90-minute visit)
Established on February 26, 1929, and named after the highest peak in the Teton Mountains, Grand Teton National Park boasts a near-pristine ecosystem. Some prehistoric plants and animals still thrive here, and the oldest rocks have been identified as dating back 2.7 billion years. With its numerous lakes, rivers, and snow-capped mountains, including Jackson Lake and Jenny Lake, the park creates a tranquil world south of Yellowstone. Furthermore, Grand Teton National Park is home to an incredibly diverse array of wildlife, including bison, grizzly bears, black bears, and moose.

Utah State Capitol (30-minute visit)
The Utah State Capitol, located in Salt Lake City, rivals the scale and design of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Its Byzantine-style dome gleams brilliantly in the sunlight. The interior is even more opulent and intricately decorated. The walls are made of polished marble, the ceilings are adorned with exquisite murals, and countless lifelike, finely sculpted figures stand within. Furthermore, given Utah's nickname, the "Honeycomb State," a prominent beehive sculpture stands in front of the building, a must-see for visitors to take photos.

 Temple Square (30-minute visit)
Temple Square is a 10-acre (4.0-hectare) complex located in downtown Salt Lake City and owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Temple Square includes the Salt Lake City Temple, Salt Lake City Chapel, Salt Lake City Convention Center, the Seagull Monument, and two visitor centers. In 1964, the square was designated a National Historic Landmark to recognize the achievements of the Mormons in settling in Utah.
