Depart early in the morning and travel west along the iconic Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1). Towering ahead is dramatic Castle Mountain, its sheer cliffs rising like a stone fortress.

Soon you arrive at Lake Louise, the crown jewel of the Rockies. Sunlight dances across mineral-rich waters, revealing a mesmerizing sapphire blue. Cradled by the soaring Victoria Glacier on three sides, the lake feels like a gemstone set among the peaks—earning its nickname, “the Sapphire of the Rockies.” From the shoreline, the elegant Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise appears nestled among pine forests, a timeless alpine icon.

Next, ascend to the viewpoint overlooking Moraine Lake (seasonal). Its crystal-clear turquoise waters mirror the jagged skyline of the Ten Peaks. From above, the sweeping panorama is unforgettable—time seems to stand still.

Important Note – Moraine Lake (Seasonal Access)

Moraine Lake is typically open from the Victoria Day long weekend in May to late September/early October, subject to Parks Canada conditions.

If closed, the visit will be replaced with Lake Minnewanka (30 min) and Vermilion Lakes (15 min). In this case, the Moraine Lake mandatory fee will not be charged.

Afterward, enjoy lunch at Lake Louise Village (own expense; optional Chinese or Western set menu available). Continue west, passing the historic Spiral Tunnels, an engineering marvel built through the mountains, and enter Yoho National Park.

At serene Emerald Lake, emerald waters ripple gently as red canoes glide across the surface—one of the park’s most tranquil scenes. Then visit Natural Bridge, sculpted over centuries by the rushing Kicking Horse River, where forest, river, and distant mountains form a living landscape painting.

On the return journey, stop in Banff Town to soak up its charming mountain-village atmosphere before heading back to Calgary.
