Day 1: New York - Delaware Water Gap Nation Recreation Area Trip: Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area In the morning, we are heading to Delaware Water Gap Nation Recreation Area. This 70,000 acres protected area is located along the middle section of the Delaware River in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Appalachian Trail runs along much of the eastern boundary of the park and is maintained and updated by the New York - New Jersey Trail Conference. Here, we will explore the best of the park, Buttermilk Falls, Bushkill Falls, Dingmans Fall and many small waterfalls that could be hiding in every corner of our trip. Tumbling waters, rhododendron ravines, and hemlock forests provide a perfect opportunity for Canoeing or Kayaking along the Delaware River. (In case of rain, change of the river height, Canoeing or Kayak will be replaced by Delaware River walking tour.) Next, we will explore the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. This famous trail extends along the spine of the Appalachian Mountains from Springer Mountain, Georgia, to Mt. Katahdin in Baxter State Park, Maine. Along the trail, we can fully enjoy the majestic views, wildlife sightings, and hiking challenges. Meals Included: Breakfast: None / Lunch: None / Dinner: None
